Medicare patients can check here to find out about coverage for physical therapy.

.

Insurance Cap

Currently, a patient can receive $1,900 of outpatient physical therapy/speech pathology services per year, without further evaluation by Medicare.
This cap increases to $3,700 if the patient has a complicated diagnosis and our therapist feels there is medical necessity to do so. One of the advantages to receiving physical therapy with us is, in addition to receiving excellent services from experienced professionals, the costs of services is far below that of many other outpatient practices. This means that Medicare patients can be seen for more visits for complicated problems. For more information go to www.apta.org/PatientActionCenter.

We suggest you contact your legislators on Capitol Hill and let them know that a strict cap does not meet the needs of people that need physical therapy. This website will make it very easy for you contact your legislators. capwiz.com/amerpta/home
